The NIKKEI 225 index on the Japanese stock market opened today at 27,211.32 points, an increase of 219.11 points or +0.81%. The HSI index on the Hong Kong stock market opened today at 17,811.97 points, an increase of 732.46 points or 4.29%.
Chinese stock markets will be closed from October 3 to 7 for National Day, while Indian stock markets will be closed today (Oct. 5) for Dussehra festival.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 825.43 points, or 2.8%, to 30,316.32 overnight, while the S&P 500 rose nearly 3.1% to 3,790.93, and the Nasdaq rose 3.3% to 11,176.41.
The US Department of Labor's Bureau of Statistics released the results of the Job Opening and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS).
