The Bank of Thailand (BOT) reported statistics on information technology system failures affecting services through key banking channels in the first quarter of 2023. Data from all 20 banks showed that three banks experienced mobile banking system failures: Bangkok Bank (one failure lasting less than one hour), Krung Thai Bank (one failure lasting two hours and one ATM/CDM failure lasting four hours), and Siam Commercial Bank (two failures lasting one hour each). Thai Credit Bank for Retail Customers experienced one ATM/CDM failure lasting less than one hour and one branch system failure lasting one hour. However, the first quarter of 2023 marked the lowest number of mobile banking system failures.
