The WTI crude oil contract will be delivered in January. fell 68 cents, or 0.9%, to close at $74.86 a barrel.

Silver metal contracts delivered in December. They were up 34 cents, or 1.40%, at $24.681/ounce.
The platinum contract was delivered in January. It was down $13.70, or 1.46%, at $923.20/ounce.
Palladium contract delivered in December It was down $14.70, or 1%, at $1060.50 an ounce.

However, the US dollar strengthened against the Canadian dollar, trading at 1.3623 Canadian dollars from 1.3622 Canadian dollars.
The euro strengthened against the US dollar to 1.0956 dollars from 1.0946 dollars, while the pound sterling strengthened to 1.2631 dollars from 1.2608 dollars.
