Pheu Thai confirms moving forward with digital wallet with "Prae Thongtarn-Chaikasem" ready to become Prime Minister

The Pheu Thai Party would like to study the details of the Constitutional Court's decision before submitting a prime ministerial candidate, stating that both Pae Thong and Chaikasem are ready to be prime minister, insisting on moving forward with digital wallets.

On August 14, 2024, Mr. Sorawong Thianthong, Secretary-General of the Pheu Thai Party, revealed after the Constitutional Court's ruling on the qualifications of Prime Minister Settha Thavisin that the party still has two more candidates for Prime Minister to be nominated: Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra and Mr. Chaiyasem Nitishiri. However, he added that they need to review the details of the Constitutional Court's ruling first to determine whether Mr. Settha still meets the qualifications for nomination.

It was confirmed that candidates from the Pheu Thai Party must be nominated first, as they have the largest proportion of MPs in the government, and both of their candidates are ready to hold the position.
