On January 9, 2025, as announced by the Gold Traders Association, the price of gold (96.5% purity) for today opened at 9:14 AM. For the domestic gold market, the price increased by 150 baht per baht of gold from yesterday's closing price.

The selling price of gold ornaments is 44,100.00 baht per baht of gold, while the buying price is 42,720.88 baht per baht of gold.

For gold bars, they sold at 43,600.00 baht/baht of gold and bought at 43,500.00 baht/baht of gold. The gold spot was at 2,658.50 dollars per ounce.

January 9, 2025 - Mr. Poon Panichpibul, Market Strategist at Krungthai GLOBAL MARKETS, Krungthai Bank, revealed that, regarding gold prices, a slight dip in both the US dollar and the 10-year US Treasury yield, along with cautious market sentiment, has supported the gradual rise in gold prices (COMEX gold futures contract for February 2568 delivery) to the 2,670-2,680 dollar per ounce zone. The overnight rise in gold prices also helped mitigate downward pressure on the Thai baht.

Gold futures on the New York market closed higher after reports showed weaker-than-expected U.S. private sector employment figures in December, leading investors to believe that this data might make the Federal Reserve less cautious in cutting interest rates this year.

• Gold futures contracts on the COMEX (Commodity Exchange) for delivery in February. Up $7, or 0.26%, to close at $2,672.40/ounce.
