The Treasury expects to establish ThaiESG Fund 2 to receive the transfer of 1.8 million baht in LTF funds, which will be clear in the first quarter of 1, and is accelerating preparations to push GDP growth in 68 to 68%.

19 Feb 2568 Mr. Lawan Saengsanit, Permanent SecretaryMinistry of Finance It was revealed that the Ministry of Finance is expediting the details of the establishment of the ThaiESG 2 Fund, which is expected to begin operations in the first quarter of 1.

“There are many factors that affect the Thai stock market. We are trying to do everything that the Ministry of Finance can do. As for the establishment of the second ThaiESG fund, the Minister of Finance has confirmed that there will be measures to support the change of LTF to ThaiESG because we do not want to sell LTF during this period. In addition to the price being bad, it also makes the stock market worse.”

The original ThaiESG Fund 1 can still be purchased as usual. The ThaiESG Fund 2, which is currently in the process, will be released to support the LTF funds that have reached maturity, totaling 1.8 billion baht, and will receive new tax benefits.

“At the end of 67, there were LTFs that reached maturity of approximately 2.4 billion baht. Today, they have been gradually expanded to approximately 1.8 billion baht. The ones that still cannot be sold are at a loss. If I remember correctly, the loss should be around 5-10%.

Therefore, we have now set up the ThaiESG Fund 2 to support this fund. This fund is only for groups that have transferred from LTF. We are currently designing the investment format and providing tax benefits. Whether or not it can be invested abroad depends on the design. However, we believe that if it is our money, we would rather have it stay in the country.”

As the Prime Minister prepares to call a meeting of the economic stimulus committee, Mr. Laworn said that the Ministry of Finance has prepared various measures to be implemented at the appropriate time.

While an important measure that will help stimulate economic growth is to accelerate investment in projects that have applied for investment promotion cards from the Board of Investment (BOI), because currently there are many applications for promotion cards but no actual investment has occurred.

“The NESDB has already stated that we want to see GDP in 68 at 3-3.5%. Therefore, the Ministry of Finance has prepared a plan to drive various measures at the right time. Making GDP grow by 3-3.5% is very difficult and challenging, but it is possible with cooperation from all sectors to drive it forward together.”
