Warning! Fake email impersonating “DE” asking for donations and announcing legal casino licenses
Warning about fake emails claiming to be from the Ministry of Digital Economy, asking for donations and announcing the issuance of legal casino licenses. Do not believe online scammers who create false information for profit.
Today (10 March 2568) Mr. Karom Phonphonklang, Deputy SpokespersonPrime Minister's Office Remind people not to believe in scammers impersonating your name “Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DE)” Deceive the public by falsely claiming as follows:
1. “Ministry of Digital issues license to establish legal casinos” By charging a registration fee to authorized representatives and a deposit of 47,074 baht, it should be clarified that the information is fake. The Ministry of Digital Economy has not issued any casino establishment licenses.
2. “Sending emails to inform about tax payments and donations to the fund in 2025” The email falsely claimed to be the logo of the Ministry of Digital Economy and the name of the Minister of Digital Economy in sending the message via email, asking the public not to believe such information.
Mr. Karam said that the Ministry of Digital Economy will take legal action against those who bring false, distorted, and untrue information into the computer system. Such actions are intended to deceive the public by impersonating government agencies. This is considered an online crime that has a widespread impact on the public in society. The Ministry of Digital Economy will monitor the source of such fake news information and will prosecute the criminals to the fullest extent of the law.
“We would like to reiterate our warning against scammers who have been using the dissemination of fake news and distorted information to deceive people in order to gain property and personal information. We ask that the public not believe or share such information and to adhere to the “4 No’s”: 1. Do not click on links, 2. Do not believe, 3. Do not rush, and 4. Do not transfer money. If you want to report any information, fake news, or any form of online crime, call the hotline 1111 (24 hours).” Mr. Karom stated
