Chai Sophonpanich prepares Chawal-Lassa Sophonpanich to inherit the business and continue the success of Bangkok Insurance to grow steadily and strongly.

Mr. Chai Sophonpanich, Chairman of Bangkok Insurance Public Company Limited, is preparing his two heirs, Mr. Chawal Sophonpanich and Ms. Lasa Sophonpanich, to succeed him in managing Bangkok Insurance. He is encouraging their continuous learning and experience in all aspects of the organization, and guiding them towards developing the company and driving its growth. This marks a crucial turning point towards a “New Era of Bangkok Insurance,” while remaining committed to the vision of “Being the Best Choice in Customers’ Hearts,” amidst the challenges of the insurance business.

In early 2568, Bangkok Insurance has undergone a major organizational restructuring to strengthen itself by appointing a senior executive, Mr. Chawan Sophonpanich, to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee and develop internal operational strategies for maximum efficiency, covering technology and innovation development, corporate brand management, customer service, motor vehicle claims management, as well as promoting and developing human resources to have potential and gain trust in another important role, which is taking care of the Bangkok Insurance Foundation, which Mr. Chai Sophonpanich is very attentive to in providing support to help those who lack opportunities in society to have a better quality of life.

Mr. Chawal's career with Bangkok Insurance began in 2547. Over the past two decades, he has accumulated experience in retail customer business management, human resource management, corporate communications, and customer service. He graduated with a degree in Economics from the University of Rochester and holds a certificate in Risk Management and Insurance from St. John's University in the United States.

In this new role, the focus will be on building a strong foundation for the organization, establishing an efficient internal management system, developing employee welfare and quality of life, and creating an organizational culture that promotes advancement, along with elevating the image of the Bangkok Insurance brand to win the hearts of consumers and make it more accessible. In addition, new technologies and innovations will be applied to the organization’s management and customer service to create a good experience and maximum satisfaction, responding to rapidly changing needs.

Another key driving force for Bangkok Insurance in this new era is Ms. Lasa Sophonpanich, who has assumed the position of President. She will oversee and support business operations to ensure maximum efficiency, aligning with the organization's vision of stable and sustainable growth while delivering the best possible experience to customers and partners. Her focus will be on managing the brokerage business, financial institutions business, retail customer business, reinsurance management, and investment office – all crucial units for driving Bangkok Insurance's strong growth.

Ms. Lasa started working with Bangkok Insurance in 2554 and has accumulated management experience in various fields, with outstanding expertise in brokerage business management and reinsurance contract management. She holds a master’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in International Relations & Chinese from Wellesley College, USA. She also holds a certificate in insurance from The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), which further enhances her knowledge and in-depth understanding of the insurance business.

With her understanding of business structures and insurance market trends, Ms. Lasa places importance on expanding her partner network, developing strong teams, and creating new strategies that enable business units to grow continuously. Despite facing fierce competition in the market, there are still many opportunities for insurance business expansion, and Bangkok Insurance is ready to step into the future with stability.
