The Cabinet approves the draft Electronic Securities Act.

The Cabinet has approved the draft of the Electronic Securities Act to support the issuance and transaction of securities in the electronic system, along with increasing penalties, facilitating the public, and increasing the capability of the Thai capital market to respond to the digital era.
10 Jun 2568 Mr. Pornchai Thiravech, Director of the Fiscal Policy Office as a spokesman for the Ministry of Finance It was revealed that the Cabinet resolved on June 10, 2568 to approve the draft Securities and Exchange Act (No. ..) B.E. ... (Electronic Securities) (Draft Act) which had passed the review of the Office of the Council of State (O.C.).
The main content of the draft Act is to amend the provisions on the issuance of electronic securities, which are different from securities in the form of general paper instruments, to be clearer and more appropriate in order to support the process of issuing electronic securities and various transactions that will be in the electronic system throughout the life of the electronic securities, such as the status of electronic securities, supervision and control, the process of issuing electronic securities, transactions related to electronic securities, the binding effect of electronic securities, the change of the paper-based securities system to electronic securities, etc., including adding penalties so that law enforcement can achieve its objectives.
The draft bill is an amendment to the law to be up-to-date to support the use of technology to facilitate the people and increase the country's capital market capacity. For the next step, the draft bill will be brought into the legal consideration process to be effective.
