SET advises close monitoring of global and domestic situations, along with emergency measures to care for investors

SET recommends closely monitoring the volatility of global and domestic situations, including the violence in the Middle East and the still-uncertain US-China trade negotiations, in order to prepare for and implement short-term measures in the event of an emergency.
13 June 2568 Mr. Atsadej Kongsiri, Director and Managing Director of the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Speaking at the seminar "Hon Retirement" Special EP LTF - RMF - SSF exit from the mountain to the "Happy Retirement" portfolio, organized by the Bank Finance Journal in collaboration with the Stock Exchange of Thailand, The SET has been closely monitoring the situation of violence in the Middle East to prepare for the situation. If there is an emergency, short-term measures will be considered to allow investors to trade as usual.
Currently, various situations are very volatile, such as the trade negotiations between the United States and China. Although an agreement on the trade framework has been reached, it is still uncertain. The situation changes all the time. The same goes for domestic news where many news stories have an impact on the capital market. The Stock Exchange of Thailand has a team that closely monitors the situation to consider solutions in case of emergencies and to enable the capital market to operate normally.
“The key factor is to allow investors to trade normally, to have flexibility in entry and exit. But if there is a sudden or severe situation, we may have to have measures to slow down or help investors make decisions.” Mr. Atsadet said
The short-term measures to be used depend on each situation. For example, the Liberation Day event, fortunately, occurred during a closed stock exchange, which gave the SET time to decide whether to take any special measures to slow down investors' decisions, giving everyone a chance to calmly analyze the information. In deciding on any measures, the SET will consider clear and accurate information to make decisions on the necessary short-term processes.
For the progress of the negotiation of import tariffs between Thailand and the United States, which is approaching the deadline that President Donald Trump temporarily suspended the enforcement of country-specific tariffs for 90 days until July 9, 2568. Mr. Asadet said that as far as he knew, Thailand had already set a time for discussions with the United States, which he hoped would yield a positive response. He expected that the results of the negotiations would have a positive direction for the Thai capital market. He had heard that the time for discussions had been set.
