European stocks close lower amid concerns over tensions in the Middle East; New York stocks closed

European stocks fell to their lowest in more than a month on Thursday (June 1) as escalating tensions in the Middle East and concerns about a possible US involvement in a war with Iran spooked investors.

- CAC-40 French stock market index Closed at 7,553.45 points, down 102.67 points or -1.34%.
- DAX German stock market index Closed at 23,057.38 points, down 260.43 points or -1.12%.
London stocks close at their lowest level in more than two weeks After the Bank of England kept interest rates unchanged, the escalating conflict in the Middle East continued to limit investment demand for risky assets.
