The Thai Bankers Association is waiting to see the policies of the new BOT governor, believing that whoever it is, they will all have the ability to continue the monetary policy, with the financial sector and financial institutions ready to support, especially in solving structural problems.

15 July 2568 Mr. Phayon Srivanich, Chairman of the Thai Bankers Association and Managing Director of Krungthai Bank Revealed that he believes that the new Governor of the Bank of Thailand (BOT) who will take up the position will continue the monetary policy and believes that he will be someone with experience and knowledge. However, we have to wait and see who will take up the position and the policy statement first.

“The financial sector and financial institution system are ready to support policies that help solve problems, especially policies that solve structural problems and policies that solve immediate problems.”

In terms of monetary policy Mr. Phayon said that he believes in the market mechanism because financial institutions are the main mechanisms for distributing resources, both money and liquidity, to the right place and in the right direction. While if it goes outside the system, the financial institution system will try to find a bridge to connect. However, the lack of access to liquidity is a challenge, so we are trying to help everyone enter the system.

For the debt resolution policy mission Mr. Phayon said that he believes that this is one of the first policies of the government, both the Bank of Thailand and the Thai Bankers Association, which is something that all parties are trying to solve. However, the debt problem is structurally complicated, such as allowing people outside the system to exchange information in the system, which will create an ecosystem that benefits people outside the system.
