OpenAI to release GPT-5 as early as August 68, new model will be more versatile by combining multiple models to support more complex tasks

On July 24, 2568, Reuters reported that The Verge reported on Thursday (July 25), citing inside sources, that OpenAI, a leader in artificial intelligence, plans to launch its GPT-5 model by August.

This new model will have different capabilities from the previous model in that it can combine multiple sub-models and perform multiple functions, not just one model that does everything.

Previously, Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, stated in February that GPT-5 would integrate o3 family models with other technologies to provide simpler and more flexible services. OpenAI's long-term goal is to combine o-series and GPT-series models to develop AI that can be used with a wider variety of tools and supports a wider range of applications.

The report says that while GPT-5 is likely to be released in early August, OpenAI’s release schedule could change due to development challenges, server constraints, or announcements/leaks of competing AI models.
