I don't think it's appropriate. The fact that our team is there for three days has been a concern to the senior management and myself from the beginning. Several people have suggested this, so we're requesting a change of venue," said Gen. Nattapol.

Furthermore, a request has been made to extend the meeting to August 4-7. The original date for the meeting is August 4, as the prepared agenda cannot be discussed in one day. Even if the meeting is not concluded between August 4-7, it will likely be extended to the next meeting. The meeting must take into account the national interest. If the meeting fails to proceed as planned, it will be reviewed at the next meeting until the government's objectives are met.

He added that the Thai side would strive to do its best, as the situation is currently facing public expectations and dissatisfaction.

Whether China and the United States will participate as observers in the meeting remains to be seen. General Natthapol said it likely wouldn't be, but that discussions with relevant units would be necessary first. He added that, in his view, it would be a bilateral negotiation, in accordance with the country's normal mechanisms, unlike the previous ceasefire negotiations, which were mediated.

Regarding the Malaysian and Cambodian media reports, Sweden will suspend Thailand's request to purchase Gripen fighter jets. General Nattapol said he had not yet received a report, but that relations between Thailand and Sweden were not without problems.
