The Treasury Department has issued three tax measures to help disaster victims on the Thai-Cambodian border.

The Revenue Department has extended the deadline for filing and paying all types of taxes for those affected in seven provinces. New tax measures include deductions for home and car repairs, along with tax exemptions for relief funds. These measures aim to alleviate hardship and help those affected by the disasters on the Thai-Cambodian border recover and return to normal life as soon as possible.

Today (10 August 2568) Ms. Sasikarn Wattanachan, Deputy Government Spokesperson The government, through the Ministry of Finance, has assigned the Revenue Department to issue three tax measures to assist citizens and businesses affected by the security emergency along the Thai-Cambodian border, covering seven provinces: Trat, Chanthaburi, Sa Kaeo, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket, and Ubon Ratchathani.

The three key measures are as follows:

  1. Extended tax filing and payment deadline: Extending the deadline for filing and paying all types of taxes, such as personal income tax, corporate income tax, value-added tax, and specific business tax, from the original deadline of July 24 to September 29, 2568, to September 30, 2568, to help alleviate the burden on taxpayers in the area.
  2. Tax deduction for repair costs: Actual expenses incurred for home and car repairs from July 4 to December 31, 2568, can be used as a deduction. Home repairs can be deducted up to a maximum of 100,000 baht, and car repairs can be deducted up to a maximum of 30,000 baht.
  3. Tax exemption for relief funds: The Revenue Department will issue an announcement exempting personal and corporate income tax for relief funds received by affected persons, including money received from the government, money or property from donations, and compensation that is not yet exempt from tax under the law.
