August 10, 2568 Mr. Anukul Prueksanusak, Deputy Government Spokesperson The government's current priority is ensuring security and safely repatriating citizens to their hometowns in areas that have been confirmed as 100% safe. The government is also concerned about people affected by the unrest along the Thai-Cambodian border, who are unable to live their normal lives and are forced to relocate to temporary shelters, which may pose limitations and risks, particularly for vulnerable groups.

Mr. Anukul said that regarding returning to residences, some areas may face different levels of situation. Therefore, if people wish to return, The Ministry of Public Health has the following recommendations for conduct:

  1. Check the readiness of the house or residence in detail, such as the house structure, walls, roof, and electrical system.
  2. Clean things inside the house to reduce the accumulation of dust and germs.
  3. Observe your own mental state and that of your family members. If you feel stressed, anxious, or have symptoms similar to depression, you should immediately consult a doctor/public health officer.
  4. Maintain good hygiene

People residing in temporary shelters should eat freshly cooked food, drink clean water regularly, maintain personal hygiene and that of their families, get enough sleep, and participate in leisure activities to promote relaxation and reduce stress. The Ministry of Public Health and the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security have established teams to provide full care to people in shelters, covering physical, mental, and environmental health.

At the same time, you should follow the recommendations of the temporary shelter, such as keeping personal belongings organized, avoiding sharing items with others, helping to maintain cleanliness of the area, and if you feel sick, have a fever, cough, or sneeze, please wear a mask at all times. If you notice any unusual symptoms in your family, talk to or seek advice from the temporary shelter staff to ensure your own and your family's health and well-being.
