He recommends that merchants have confidence in the verification system, noting that the number of individuals actually affected is small and that all agencies are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

In discussions with relevant agencies regarding account freezes, it was initially concluded that the AOC 1441 Center would be responsible for temporarily withdrawing the suspended account balance. Members of the public are encouraged to call AOC 1441 and press 2. A thorough investigation will be conducted to determine if there are any related issues and to determine if there are any warrants or suspicious circumstances. If there are no issues, the account freeze will be lifted as quickly as possible, under the authority of the AOC 1441 Center Head.

In cases where an account has been frozen by warrant, under the Criminal Procedure Code, it is the responsibility of the police to take action. Commercial banks will also implement measures consistent with the work of the AOC 1441 Center.

“Regarding the difficulty of getting through to the AOC 1441 center, I confirm that there are currently over 100 lines. It must be admitted that in the past two years, there has never been a problem of difficulty getting through. The success rate is consistently over 2%.

However, since August 1st, calls from the bank have been transferred to the AOC center to expedite contact with officers to report account suspension. This has resulted in a rise in calls each day. This problem has been addressed by adding more lines and more officers. During this time, there may be a bottleneck due to the large number of calls coming in simultaneously, as was the case in the incident.

Mr. Ekapong added that regarding market vendors refusing to accept money transfers for purchases, he urged them to have confidence, as officials and banks only investigate irregularities in the financial transactions. Some accounts are experiencing hundreds of transfers from mule accounts per day, which constitutes irregularities and the banks must investigate according to the Emergency Decree.

Regarding the number of innocent individuals whose credit limits have been suspended, it's confirmed that only a small number have been found. Regarding the law and the problems that have arisen, adjustments will be necessary, as this is a new issue. The AOC 1441 Center and related agencies will work to resolve the issues as quickly as possible.
