The focus is on addressing five key threats and fostering cooperation from all sectors.
Accelerate the resolution of 5 threats, using technology as a tool
Mr. Chaichanok revealed that The Ministry of Digital Economy will focus on using digital technology as a core tool to urgently address five threats, including:
1. Natural disasters: Coordinate with relevant agencies to use technology to enhance response and integrate information from multiple sources to notify the public in a timely manner and reduce property damage. Consideration will be given to the further use of the Cell Broadcast system, which currently faces issues with phone models. However, a solution will be sought by utilizing existing technology to quickly coordinate and notify local areas.
2. Security threats: Enhance knowledge and understanding of cybersecurity and coordinate with other agencies to fully utilize technology, especially in border conflict areas.
3. Economic threats: Promote Thai digital entrepreneurs and accelerate solutions to the monopoly of major platforms and logistics monopolies, ensuring users have the right to choose. Several platforms have already contacted us for discussions and expressed their shared commitment to helping Thais overcome the economic crisis.
4. Threats (Technology) : Promote access to technology, especially artificial intelligence (AI), and raise awareness of its safe use.
5. Social dangers: Promote the use of technology to reduce social inequality, while also enhancing law enforcement against call center scammers and cybercrime. This will build on the previous government's strict measures, including operator signals and related laws.
Emphasis on transparency and high cooperation despite time constraints
The Minister of Digital Economy emphasized that, given the government's limited four-month tenure, all ministries must work in the same direction. The Ministry of Digital Economy, as the primary digital agency, has proposed a plan emphasizing transparency and accountability at every stage to ensure effective implementation through the current situation.
“We need to coordinate with the private sector and civil society to work together intensively in this short period of time.”
Mr. Chaichanok further stated that he requested cooperation from all parties to fully assist the people. He added that pending legislation would be reviewed and pushed forward with full force.

Mr. Chaichanok admitted that working within a limited timeframe of just four months was a significant challenge, particularly in areas where he admitted he still has limited experience, such as natural disaster response technology. He added that he will be coordinating with expert countries like Japan to expedite studies both domestically and internationally.
However, the Minister of Digital Economy expressed confidence in the capabilities of the Ministry's team and the Cabinet, particularly in the economic sector. He predicted that within one month, the results of his work would be available for the public to follow. Regarding technologies that are not yet ready but are urgently needed, cooperation from relevant agencies may be sought to "borrow" them for timely relief of public suffering before the normal procurement process begins.
