The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) revealed that the number of "Investment Fraud Hotline" calls in September 2568 nearly doubled, reflecting a growing public demand for advice.

Most of the information was provided as advice, reflecting that investment scams continue to threaten the public and that people need more advice to gain confidence in investing. We also warn people to be careful of investment scams. If unsure, consult first by calling 1207 and pressing 22.

Office of the SEC Revealing the operating statistics of “Hotline to report investment scams” In September 2568, 1,500 tips and consultations were received, nearly double the number in August 2568. The majority of these consultations reflect the continued threat of investment fraud and the increasing need for consultations to ensure confidence in investing or after becoming a victim.

The data on past reports and advisory services provided by the SEC will be crucial for developing strategies to enhance the role of the "Investment Fraud Hotline" within the SEC Complaint Center. This initiative aims to provide proactive advice on investment fraud prevention, enabling the public to conduct more comprehensive investigations before making investment decisions when uncertain.

Mr. Anek Yuyuen, Deputy Secretary General and SEC Spokesperson. said “Most of the losses from investment fraud reports received by the SEC in the past stem from scams via social media, involving investment in stocks, funds, and even digital assets like cryptocurrencies, and from impersonating various agencies, including the SEC, the Stock Exchange of Thailand, and listed companies.

Furthermore, there have been instances of investment solicitations falsely claiming to be through the off-market securities trading system. Therefore, we urge the public to be cautious of investment solicitations via social media and to thoroughly verify information before making an investment decision.
