At the seminar, the Deputy Prime Minister will present the government's economic policies, while the BOI Secretary-General will highlight investment opportunities in targeted industries, including BOI incentives and support measures to build confidence among Japanese investors.

In addition, the Thai government will meet with the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) to discuss cooperation in developing industrial competitiveness, particularly in targeted industries in which Japan has expertise, and in the development of new energy.

This includes guidelines for building cooperation to maintain the investment base of Japanese investors in Thailand, ensuring its stability and enabling future development amidst the challenges and uncertainties of the global economy.

In this roadshow A meeting will be held with six Japanese automakers with large production bases in Thailand, namely Toyota, Honda, Isuzu, Mazda, Mitsubishi, and Nissan, to listen to their opinions and suggestions, as well as present the latest support measures from the government and the Board of Investment (BOI), to ensure that the government has a clear and consistent policy to support the comprehensive transition from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to various forms of electric vehicles (xEV).

In addition, discussions will be held with major Japanese banks and leading companies in the semiconductor and intelligent electronics industries, another strategic global industry, to invite them to expand their investments in Thailand.

"Japan has long been a key partner and a key player in driving the Thai economy, including trade, investment, and industrial development. It is also the country with the largest accumulated investment in Thailand. The key goal of this roadshow is to ensure the Thai government's continued support for Japanese investors, both those already based in Thailand and those considering relocating their production bases. Furthermore, we will enhance cooperation to expand Japan's current leading industries into future industries, such as semiconductors and advanced electronics, electric vehicles, batteries, and new energy. This will also attract investment from Japanese SMEs and startups, which have the potential to invest abroad." Mr. Narit said.

Japan has also continued to expand its investment in Thailand. Over the past five years, from 2020 to 2025 (9 months), Japan has applied for investment promotion for 1,493 projects, with an investment value of over 420 billion baht, mostly in the electrical and electronic appliances, chemicals and petrochemicals, automotive and parts industries. During the first nine months of this year, the value of investment promotion applications from Japan more than doubled from 35,469 billion baht to 73,754 billion baht.
