Finance Minister confident GDP growth in Q4 68 will exceed 0.6%, estimates southern flooding will impact 0.1%

The Finance Minister is confident that Thailand's GDP will grow by more than 0.6% in the fourth quarter of 2025, driven by economic stimulus measures like the "Half-Half Plus" scheme and assistance for SMEs. He estimates that the flooding in the southern region will have a minimal impact on GDP, estimated at around 0.1%.
2 Dec 2568 Dr. Ekniti Nitithanpraphat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance The Fiscal Policy Office has assessed the impact of the flooding in the South, expecting a 0.1% impact on GDP.
“The economic impact of the floods in the South, compared to the GDP of 20 trillion baht, is not significant. The impact is not significant, but the impact on the lives of local people is significant.”
Therefore, the flood relief measures for the southern region, approved by the Economic Cabinet on December 1, 2568, and approved by the full Cabinet today, aim to allow people in the area to return to normal life as quickly as possible.
In this regard, if all measures implemented, including the SME assistance measures and the "Half-Half Plus" scheme, are combined, it is believed that the Thai economy will grow by more than 0.6% or close to 1% in the fourth quarter. However, the exact figures need to be reassessed.
