The resolution approved in principle and acknowledged the implementation of the "Quick Big Win" measure to increase savings opportunities and financial security for the public, namely the Thailand Individual Saving Account (TISA) project. The Ministry of Finance will present this to the Cabinet meeting for consideration tomorrow (December 9, 2568).
"These measures to increase savings opportunities and enhance people's financial security will provide more convenient and diverse savings channels. They will motivate people to save, encourage middle- and low-income earners to increase their savings, promote financial well-being, and provide sufficient income for retirement. The government will also alleviate the burden on the budget for old-age welfare care for those who are unable to support themselves."
A source from the Ministry of Finance said that The said savings promotion measure will use the approach studied by the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) by allowing taxpayers to choose to invest in securities listed on the stock exchange, bonds or other types of investments according to their risk tolerance.
While the Ministry of Finance has a proposal to set a ceiling on all personal income tax deductions For example, ISA accounts, retirement mutual funds (RMF), savings mutual funds (SSF), life insurance, health insurance, home loan interest, etc., combined, must not exceed 800,000 baht per year.
