The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed it is taking care of Thais stranded in Poipet, stating that Cambodia's suspension of land travel violates human rights. The ministry is also arranging air travel for their return, issuing emergency documents and arranging flights from Siem Reap with 1,000 seats per day. Simultaneously, it is continuing to counter misinformation through Thai embassies worldwide.

Dec 14, 2568 – Ms. Maratee Nalita Andamo, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Information and Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It has been revealed that the situation regarding Thai citizens wishing to return to Thailand but stranded in Poipet, Cambodia, is due to a suggestion from Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen that the Cambodian government suspend land travel for foreigners, including Thais, which is a clear violation of international human rights law.

While Thailand adheres to international principles and laws, cooperating and taking all necessary actions for foreigners in Thailand, even though land travel is disrupted by the announcement, the embassy and consulates general are ready to assist Thai citizens in departing by air, providing emergency document services and arranging flights from Siem Reap with 1,000 seats per day.

Regarding the distortion of information: The 90 Thai embassies and consulates worldwide have used press releases from the Joint Press Center on the Thai-Cambodian situation, posting them on Facebook to clarify accurate information to foreigners and the international media. This represents another necessary battleground on social media. Currently, press releases have been published in six languages, with two more in German and Arabic under development.
