The district chief of Khun Han has ordered the evacuation of residents from Khun Han district, Sisaket province, to temporary shelters, effective December 15, 68, following concerns that the clashes along the border are likely to be prolonged and escalate.

On December 15, 2568, Mr. Sadich Nichakul, District Chief of Khun Han, issued an announcement dated December 15, 2568, instructing residents in high-risk areas (threats caused by actions of foreign armed forces) to remain in evacuation centers, temporary shelters, or safe locations until the situation improves. The announcement specified the following details:

Following the clashes between Thai and Cambodian forces since December 7, 2568, in Kantaralak District, the situation has escalated in severity, resulting in border clashes in several areas. There is a likelihood that the situation will be prolonged and expand. The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation has been monitoring the situation and has found that it has affected Khun Han District. Khun Han District has been declared a disaster area (due to actions by foreign forces).

Pursuant to the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Act B.E. 2550 (2007) and its amendments, and in accordance with Section 19 and Section 28, all residents in Khun Han District (excluding village security teams or relevant officials) are hereby ordered to evacuate to designated evacuation centers, temporary shelters, or other safe locations outside the aforementioned area. Anyone violating this order shall be subject to penalties as stipulated in Section 52 of the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Act B.E. 2550 (2007) and its amendments.

Currently, the situation remains unsafe. Therefore, Khun Han District requests that residents who have been evacuated to various locations refrain from returning to their hometowns. Residents in high-risk areas are asked to remain in temporary shelters until the situation improves.

This will be effective from December 15, 2568, until the situation ends.
