The Election Commission has set February 8, 2569, as the election date. Registration for constituency MPs will be from December 27-31, 2568, while registration for party-list MPs and notification of prime ministerial candidates will take place from December 28-31, 2568.
December 15, 2568 Office of the Election Commission Approved the draft plan for the election of members of the House of Representatives. (Election Day, Sunday, February 8, 2569) The details are as follows.
As per the Royal Decree dissolving the House of Representatives in 2568, which came into effect on December 12, 2568, and mandated the Election Commission to announce a general election for members of the House of Representatives, today (December 15, 2568), the Office of the Election Commission submitted a draft election management plan to the Election Commission for consideration. After reviewing the plan, the Election Commission approved it, with the following key points:
1. Election Day
- Sunday, February 8, 2569 It is the day for the election of members of the House of Representatives.
2. Advance voting day.
- Sunday, February 1, 2569 Advance voting, voting outside the electoral district, and voting at the polling station for people with disabilities, impairments, or the elderly.
3. The date for registration of parliamentary candidates and nomination of prime minister candidates.
- Date 27 – 31 December 2568 Candidates for constituency-based Members of Parliament must register at the location designated by the election director of each constituency.
- Date 28 – 31 December 2568 Registration for party-list MPs (only for political parties that have already submitted candidates for constituency elections) and for political parties to submit the names of their nominated Prime Minister candidates will take place at the Centara Life Government Complex and Convention Center, Chaeng Wattana, Bangkok.
4. Registration for advance voting. From December 20, 2568 to January 5, 2569, within the electoral district, outside the electoral district, and outside the Kingdom.
5. Notification of reasons for inability to exercise the right to vote. Between February 1-7, 2569 and February 9-15, 2569.
