SHARGE and Grab join forces, investing 400 million baht to open electric vehicle charging stations for Grab drivers.

SHARGE Management (SHARGE), a comprehensive electric vehicle charging service provider, has partnered with Grab, investing over 400 million baht to build 40 Grab EV charging stations across Thailand by 2027. These stations will specifically support Grab drivers and offer fast charging in just 20 minutes. The first three pilot stations will be located at Suvarnabhumi Airport, Don Mueang Airport, and Pattaya.

January 29, 2569 Mr. Phiraphat Sirichantharopas, Chief Executive Officer, Charge Management Co., Ltd. It was revealed that, "This is SHARGE's first full-scale investment in building electric vehicle charging stations with partners, under the name 'Grab EV Charging Station'. The company has prepared a budget of over 400 million baht to develop 40 stations for Grab drivers who use electric vehicles by 2570, covering major economic and tourist cities throughout Thailand. This is to support the growth of ride-hailing drivers using electric vehicles and create an ecosystem that meets the lifestyle needs of drivers in the future."

"In the first phase, we will develop pilot charging stations in Bangkok and Chonburi, strategic areas where over 60% of Grab drivers use electric vehicles. We will start with three high-potential locations: Suvarnabhumi Airport, Don Mueang Airport, and Pattaya, to meet the demand in these densely populated zones."

As a result, Grab has become the ride-hailing platform with the largest number of drivers providing ride-hailing and food delivery services using EVs, totaling tens of thousands of vehicles nationwide. To overcome the limitations of electric vehicle charging stations, which are still not widely available in many areas, Grab has partnered with SHARGE to create Grab EV charging stations specifically for Grab drivers. This will help solve the problems of station availability and charging time, which we believe will encourage drivers to switch to electric vehicles even more.”

Key features of Grab EV charging stations.

• Grab drivers are entitled to a special charging rate of 6 baht per unit (kWh) (from the normal rate of 6.4-7.6 baht per unit).
• Each Grab EV charging station can accommodate simultaneous charging of up to 12 vehicles per cycle, and more than 700 vehicles per day, covering all makes and models of 4-wheel electric vehicles.
• Grab EV charging stations are equipped with Fast Charge technology, allowing for a full charge in just 20 minutes, enabling drivers to manage their work time more efficiently.
