BPP announced the signing of an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares in the “Megamouth” battery energy storage project in Texas, with a total investment of over 2,799 million baht. This move further adjusts the company's portfolio towards low-carbon assets. Commercial operation is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2027.

Banpu Power US Corporation (BPPUS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of BPP, has signed a Membership Interest Purchase Agreement (MIPA) with Grid Connected Infrastructure, LLC to acquire a 100% stake in GCI Megamouth, LLC, the owner of the Megamouth battery energy storage project. The acquisition of the ownership stake, or Membership Interest, is valued at US$4 million, or approximately 1,241 million baht.

The project is located in Texas, USA, and is expected to be ready for construction in the third quarter of 2026. It will have an installed capacity of 100 megawatts and a power generation capacity of 200 megawatt-hours. The total investment is approximately US$90 million, or approximately 2,799 million baht. Commercial operation is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2027.

This investment expands the company's power business in the United States and is consistent with its strategy.
The company is adjusting its investment portfolio towards carbon-degradable assets while generating sustainable cash flow. This investment in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) reflects the company's long-term vision to drive sustainable growth and support its carbon reduction goals.

The company certifies that entering into this transaction is not a connected transaction. and does not meet the criteria for reporting the acquisition of assets of a listed company in any way according to the announcement of the Capital Market Supervisory Board.
