The Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCGC) has provided SME guarantees through its "TCGC Quick Big Win" program, reaching 1 billion baht.

The Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCGC) approved guarantees totaling 1 billion baht under the "TCGC Quick Big Win" program, out of a 5 billion baht project budget. This supported banks in disbursing 1.07 billion baht in new loans, helping to preserve over 8.2 jobs and generating economic benefits exceeding 4.1 billion baht.
February 3, 2569 – Dr. Sittikorn Direksunthorn, Director and General Manager of the Small and Medium Enterprise Credit Guarantee Corporation (SMEG), revealed that the Thai financial system's credit situation has seen a continuous contraction, particularly in SME loans, which have experienced the sharpest negative growth.
According to data from Kasikorn Research Center, SME loans are projected to remain negative in 2569 for the fifth consecutive year, the longest continuous negative growth since the 5 Asian financial crisis. Therefore, there is an urgent need for targeted measures to assist SMEs, particularly by stimulating lending specifically within those segments.
Therefore, the Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCGC) has launched the "TCGC Quick Big Win" loan guarantee measure to encourage financial institutions to lend more. The latest results (as of February 2, 2569) show that approved loan guarantees have reached 10,000 billion baht. In January 2569 alone, the approved loan guarantee amount reached 7,125 million baht, representing a growth of 217% compared to the same period last year. This has helped drive grassroots economic growth since the beginning of the year and, importantly, provides liquidity to SMEs seeking investment and business expansion, as well as helping them sustain their operations during volatile economic conditions.
From the approved loan guarantees of 10,000 billion baht, new loans of 10,770 billion baht were generated within the financial system, helping 13,126 SMEs gain additional credit. Nearly 50% of these were micro-SMEs, with loan guarantees not exceeding 200,000 baht per borrower, considered a "vulnerable group" facing difficulties accessing credit.
Furthermore, it preserved 82,500 jobs and generated economic benefits from loan guarantees exceeding 41,300 billion baht, reflecting the success of the SME Guarantee Corporation's Quick Big Win measures – "short-term stimulus, long-term effects, and widespread impact" – which encouraged financial institutions to extend loans and increased opportunities for SMEs to access formal credit more easily.
“The 1 billion baht guarantee amount generated after the launch of the SME Guarantee Corporation (SMEGC) Quick Big Win measures within just 48 days proves that these measures can enhance creditworthiness, reduce credit costs, and increase the approval rate for SMEs, especially micro-SMEs lacking collateral or guarantors. In addition, SMEG offers other tools such as debt restructuring, debt resolution for borrowers who have claimed through SMEG's support programs, and financial literacy education through its Financial Advisory Centers, enabling SMEs to survive, thrive, and grow sustainably.”
The highlights of the "TCG Quick Big Win" measure, with a guarantee limit of 50,000 billion baht , include a 7-year guarantee term, free guarantee fees for the first 3 years, and risk-based pricing in subsequent years to reflect the credit costs of each SME. Furthermore, this marks the first time TCG has utilized the "TCG Score" credit scoring tool to assess customer risk levels in order to reduce financial costs.
Another key aspect is the high NPL compensation rate (Max Claim) to help reduce credit costs and encourage financial institutions to lend more freely. This will inject liquidity into SMEs and micro-SMEs in the economy, contributing to the recovery of negatively trending SME lending.
Furthermore, the Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCGC) has also collaborated synergistically with the "SMEs Credit Boost Project," a risk guarantee mechanism for new loans extended by commercial banks to targeted businesses. This is expected to help increase new loan disbursements by approximately 100,000 billion baht over the next 1-2 years. Currently, TCGC is responsible for the operating system, developing a system to link data between financial institutions and SMEs. This includes receiving applications from various financial institutions, verifying customer qualifications, and controlling total loan amounts, etc. This integrates TCGC's current operating model with the SMEs Credit Boost Project to upgrade the credit guarantee mechanism and enhance the efficiency of assisting SMEs in Thailand.
