EXIM BANK continues its Export Co-pilot program to support Thai exporters.

EXIM BANK announces its 2568 financial results, approving new loans totaling 5.4 billion baht. For 2569, the bank will continue to support Thai exporters with innovation, acting as an Export Co-pilot and assisting borrowers with its "You Fight, EXIM Helps" measures.
On February 12, 2569, Mr. Chalach Rattanaboonnitthi, Managing Director of the Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM BANK), announced EXIM BANK's policies and role on the occasion of the bank's official 32nd anniversary, entering its 33rd year on February 17th of this year. The announcement was made at EXIM BANK headquarters on February 12, 2569. He stated that the global economy continues to face fragility and high volatility from various risks, including trade wars and escalating and prolonged geopolitical tensions, impacting global supply chains, trade, and investment.
Meanwhile, the economies of major countries are projected to slow down, coupled with the volatile exchange rate of the Thai baht due to external factors, increasing the risk to the income and costs of exporters. Furthermore, high energy and logistics costs remain, and global trade rules are changing rapidly and becoming more complex, particularly non-tariff barriers, environmental standards, and sustainability requirements, which have become crucial conditions for accessing global markets.
At the same time, climate change increases the risk of natural disasters, such as the major floods in southern Thailand in 2568, which further exacerbates the uncertainty in doing business for Thai entrepreneurs.
Within this context, Thai entrepreneurs, especially SMEs, continue to face structural limitations in terms of capital and liquidity, access to information and knowledge about foreign markets, expansion of trading partner networks, and the ability to manage exchange rate risk, buyer country risk, and buyer risk. These factors directly impact their competitiveness and growth in the global trade arena.
Therefore, EXIM BANK, as a specialized state financial institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance, aims to transform its role into an "Export Co-pilot" that understands export trends, risk management methods, and provides comprehensive support to Thai exporters. This includes offering consultation, enhancing knowledge, providing liquidity, and supplying risk management tools at every stage of the business.
In 2569, EXIM BANK will further develop its Export Co-pilot role in a tangible way by upgrading its comprehensive support tools for exporters. This aims to help Thai entrepreneurs, especially SMEs, overcome the challenges of a volatile global economy and the country's structural limitations. The focus is on building a risk protection shield through loan packages coupled with export credit insurance and exchange rate risk management tools to enhance liquidity and competitiveness in the global trade arena. This is coupled with a revamp of organizational processes using innovation and digital technology for accurate data-driven decision-making, strengthened cybersecurity, and comprehensive risk management under the SMART strategy.

Furthermore, EXIM BANK prioritizes non-financial support through workshops and entrepreneurship development activities to enable Thai exporters to keep pace with global changes and comply with modern global trade regulations. This is achieved through collaboration with a network of public and private sector partners, including the Department of International Trade Promotion, the Department of Foreign Trade, the Board of Investment, the Federation of Thai Industries, the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and the Thai Shipowners Association. The goal is to propel Thai producers and exporters throughout the supply chain towards sustainable growth and competitiveness in the global market. This is facilitated by providing them with capital, market information, production processes, and business operations that consider environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors, all within a robust supply chain. This is particularly important in emerging markets with significant potential and a high demand for environmentally friendly, value-added products.

For the year 2568, in terms of enhancing liquidity, stimulating exports, and opening new markets, EXIM BANK approved new loans totaling 54,346 million baht to support the liquidity and business continuity of Thai entrepreneurs amidst global economic volatility and intense competition. This also aims to promote risk diversification by penetrating new markets (New Frontiers) and reducing reliance on existing markets. Loan approvals totaled 9,125 million baht in the CLMV countries (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam) and new markets. This brings the total outstanding loan and liability at the end of 2568 to 191,800 million baht. Meanwhile, export credit insurance and investment risk insurance business totaled 194,564 million baht.
In terms of promoting investment for the future, EXIM BANK aims to upgrade Thai industries to high-tech production and a green economy. As of the end of 2568, loans and commitments supporting sustainable investments such as clean energy, circular economy, and technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions totaled 91,650 million baht, representing 47.78% of the total outstanding balance. This reflects EXIM BANK's role in helping Thai entrepreneurs of all sizes upgrade their production processes to meet international standards and increase their access to global markets.
In terms of empowering entrepreneurs, EXIM BANK focuses on developing the capabilities of both new exporters and existing exporters to grow steadily and sustainably on the global stage through a network of partners from the government, private sector, and educational institutions. One of the key projects is the “EXIM 2X” program, designed to cover all aspects of export business, from accessing funding and risk management tools to foreign market penetration strategies, logistics management, and conducting business with ESG considerations. It also creates trade opportunities through business matching activities and other events at the Export Studio throughout the year. As a result, a cumulative total of 25,036 entrepreneurs have had their capabilities developed through this program.
In terms of loan quality management, EXIM BANK prioritizes proactive risk management to maintain the quality of its loan portfolio through the "You Fight, EXIM Helps" initiative. This aims to assist borrowers affected by the economic downturn to effectively recover their businesses and reduce their debt burden. As of the end of 2568, the bank's non-performing loan (NPL) ratio is expected to remain at 3.66%, similar to the previous year, despite the uncertainty faced by the business sector from various risk factors.
With a credit loss allowance of 17,139 million baht, the expected credit loss allowance to non-performing loan ratio (Coverage Ratio) is as high as 261.85%, while net profit for 2568 is projected at 1,904 million baht.
“EXIM BANK is ready to act as an Export Co-pilot, providing liquidity and risk management to enhance the readiness and confidence of Thai exporters to compete under the new global trade rules and to use change as an opportunity to drive business towards sustainable growth.”
