Author's view
Data from December 24, 2568 to January 21, 2569: During December and January 2569, global financial markets experienced increased volatility due to unrest between the US and Venezuela, and the US-Greenland conflict. However, the financial world acknowledged these events without panic and continued to move forward positively.
The USD Index fell sharply to its lowest level in almost four months, causing the THB/USD to strengthen (automatically when the USD weakens), closing at 31.19. This strengthening continued from the previous period. When the USD Index weakens, it is inevitable that investors will shift more towards gold due to the "search for return" mechanism (moving towards assets that offer a better return potential), pushing gold above 4,800 USD/Oz, a new all-time high.
Major US stocks, as well as those in Japan, South Korea, Europe, and Vietnam, remain in all-time highs, while US tech stocks are stable in an upward trend.
Treasurer has recommended hedging against foreign exchange risk from December 8, 2568, to preserve portfolio returns and mitigate volatility from currency movements during that period.
