Investor Relations Excellence
Proactively build trust.

In terms of investor relations. Narumon Noi-am, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Company Limited. It was stated that the fundamental basis of IR (Investment Responsibility) is providing accurate, complete, timely, and most importantly, "equal" information to all groups, whether retail or institutional investors, both in Thailand and abroad. Currently, BDMS has 1.2 retail shareholders, accounting for over 80-90%, an increase from approximately 8 retail investors last year. This reflects investor confidence and their choice to hold BDMS shares for the long term.

"Investors today demand more proactive information because the market is quite volatile. When sensitive news hits, it immediately affects stock prices."

Another issue that BDMS places great importance on is sustainability. Therefore, the IR (Industry Relations) task is to communicate to investors a sustainable and long-term business perspective, integrating ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) aspects into every aspect of communication.

“Today's investors are not just looking at 'short-term investment in BDMS shares,' but also at the sustainability of the business and its role in maintaining the stability of Thailand's healthcare system. In every analyst meeting or publicly released analysis, BDMS consistently emphasizes ESG principles in its communication to reinforce what the company is doing and how it will achieve market expectations.”

AI delves deep into investor databases to monitor market sentiment.

Amidst a rapidly expanding shareholder base, now exceeding 1, a significant proportion of whom are both investors and patients of BDMS's hospitals, the company is enhancing its communication through advanced technology. It is preparing to integrate AI (Artificial Intelligence) as a key component in analyzing in-depth data to communicate more effectively and accurately to investors.

“While humans can analyze data to a certain extent, AI can help organize information in a concise, relevant, and timely manner. Another application is analyzing capital market sentiment to assess investor reactions after each communication. These insights are then processed to ‘Respond’ to market needs, with monthly reports submitted to the management and board of directors to fine-tune communication strategies for clarity, completeness, and alignment with ever-changing market conditions.”

SET Awards of Honor for 3 consecutive years.
A reminder to keep going.

The management emphasized that the tangible success of winning prestigious awards at the SET Awards for three consecutive years (2023-2025), culminating in an Honor award, was not a coincidence but the result of "real" operations that have had a wide-ranging positive impact.

BDMS is extremely proud to receive these two awards for the third consecutive year, reflecting the dedication and commitment of the team. The judging panel analyzed that BDMS's work has been tangible, beneficial, and has broad impact, contributing to business growth. These awards also serve as a reminder that we must continuously strive for improvement and achieve our goals in the years to come.

Dr. Jinnathan Panyasorn, Director of Medical Resource Management, Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Company Limited. The secret behind BDMS's success lies in its intelligent medical resource management system (BDMS Utilization Review Technology: BURT). The key differentiator is BDMS's policy of delivering High Value Healthcare, a major objective that all hospitals in the network must follow in the same direction.

“Before the BURT system, we had a clear policy on efficient medical resource management. Every hospital in the network had standardized processes for managing medical resources, including KPIs, policies, and various guiding principles, to deliver high-value healthcare to patients—neither too much nor too little. Because treating too little can affect the chances of a cure, while treating too much is unnecessarily wasteful.”

BURT: From "Genius"
Towards tangible "results".

Dr. Jinnathan recounted that in the past, this responsibility fell on doctors and nurses, who had to provide care from start to finish under complex standards. However, as the number of patients has continuously increased over the past five years, a shortage of personnel with expertise in resource management has emerged.

“We had explored systems from other countries, but none were truly applicable to the healthcare context in Thailand. Therefore, we decided to create our own BURT system, using AI to replace redundant tasks, allowing doctors and nurses to focus fully on caring for and communicating with patients.”

The BURT system is not only an internal process that helps ensure quality of care, but it is also a key mechanism for creating equity in healthcare.

Dr. Jinnathan emphasized that this system will help determine the most appropriate treatment for patients of all nationalities, prioritizing medical necessity and cost-effectiveness. Currently, BDMS has implemented this system in 31 hospitals and plans to expand it to another 8-10 hospitals within this year.

"The BURT system is the core of delivering high-value healthcare based on international safety standards and the most cost-effective price."

It has the following notable features:

    • Accuracy and precision Previously, human case reviews had an accuracy of approximately 76-79%. Currently, BURT's AI system has improved its accuracy to as high as 98-99%.
    • Speed of service This drastically reduces working time, from the original 15-30 minutes per case to just 7 seconds per 30 cases.
    • Business expansion Following the granting of a patent from the Department of Intellectual Property and an award from the SET Awards, BDMS has gained the trust and recognition from insurance companies that BURT has the potential and ability to effectively replace some of their services.

Currently, BDMS is attracting interest from leading insurance companies, both domestic and international, who are interested in collaborating to reduce costs and improve customer service efficiency. This will result in easier access to insurance for the public in the future.

“We are currently studying and collaborating with insurance companies that we can work with. This will provide customers with better, faster, and more cost-effective services. More importantly, it contributes to the stability of Thailand's healthcare system and makes insurance more accessible to the Thai people due to reduced costs. This is the next step, going beyond just using it within our network of hospitals.”
