Trump also criticized U.S. allies for not participating in military operations against Iran and stated that countries that rely on oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz should be held responsible for opening that shipping lane.
He stated that the United States does not rely on oil passing through the Strait of Hormuz, and therefore the US would not be responsible for opening such a route. Speaking to reporters, he said: The responsibility for maintaining shipping lanes rests with the countries that use this strait. "That is not our responsibility, but the responsibility of the countries that use this strait."
In his first public address since the start of the Iran-Iran war, Trump said the war had a cost to the United States and the global economy, but insisted he was close to ending the conflict. They stated that Iran had been severely damaged and the hardest part of the war had passed. However, the United States will continue to heavily attack Iran for another 2–3 weeks.
Trump also urged countries that receive oil through the Strait of Hormuz to show courage and take control of the shipping lane, reiterating that the United States would not allow its allies in the Middle East to be harmed.
He also thanked his Middle Eastern allies, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Bahrain, stating that these countries had provided excellent cooperation and that the United States would not allow these allies to be harmed or defeated.
Trump finished his speech on the war situation with Iran in less than 20 minutes.
