The decline followed regional markets amid a wait-and-see sentiment surrounding US-Iran peace negotiations. The rise in oil prices near $100 added psychological pressure, coupled with profit-taking in large-cap stocks and expectations of fund flows exiting ASEAN and redirecting to Taiwan and South Korea.

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) index closed this morning, April 17, at 1,476.53 points, down 13.20 points (-0.89%), with a trading value of 31,500 million baht.

In the morning session, there was one large block trade (BIG LOT) of one security, MICRON01, with the highest value at 3.18 million baht and an average price of 9.10 baht per share.

It was stated that the Thai stock market slowed this morning, following declines in regional markets due to uncertainty surrounding the Middle East conflict. Attention is focused on next week's situation, with expectations of a new round of peace negotiations between the US and Iran, as well as crude oil prices rising close to $100 per barrel, adding to the negative sentiment.

Furthermore, selling pressure on DELTA persists to some extent, while at the same time, it faces profit-taking in large-cap stocks, especially ADVANC and TRUE. It is expected that fund flows will move out of ASEAN stock markets and into the Taiwanese and Korean stock markets instead.

The stock market trend in the afternoon session is likely to remain negative, with the index expected to fluctuate within a 10-point range (plus or minus). Support levels are seen at 1,470-1,466 points, while resistance levels are at 1,490-1,500 points.
