Thai stocks are expected to trade sideways today, May 5th, within the range of 1,475–1,510 points, according to analysts. Pressure stems from the escalating tensions in the Middle East, pushing up oil prices and bond yields. Meanwhile, domestic factors such as expectations of economic stimulus measures, consideration of the 4 billion baht loan decree, and the outlook for Q1 69 earnings are expected to provide support to the market.

May 5, 2569. Kasikorn Securities expects the Thai stock market to trade sideways today within the range of 1,480-1,510 points. Volatility is expected to remain due to the fragile situation in the Middle East. Domestically, expectations of economic stimulus measures and positive earnings reports from listed companies are expected to provide support.

InnovateX Securities expects Thai stocks to fluctuate downwards as the situation in the Middle East has escalated again following Iran's missile attack on the UAE, causing oil prices to surge and bond yields to accelerate. This will pressure short-term investment sentiment but is expected to support upstream energy stocks.

While domestic issues today include the Cabinet meeting to consider the 4 billion baht loan decree, as well as the Q1 69 financial report, technically, the index has returned above the short-term moving average. A pullback that doesn't fall below 1480 remains a positive sign, but the upside is limited.

Pie Securities estimates the SET Index range at 1475 – 1500. Rising oil prices will put pressure on investment and the future economic outlook (if they remain at high levels). Short-term investment strategies recommend the energy sector (PTTEP, PTTGC, PTT), banking sector (BBL, KBANK, KTB, SCB), industrial estate (AMATA, WHA), and export sector (ITC, TU).
