Although the US-backed agreement paved the way for cooperation between the two countries, relations have faced tension in recent years due to the UAE's dissatisfaction with Israel's failure to move forward in supporting the establishment of a Palestinian state. The situation worsened when Netanyahu established the most far-right government in Israeli history in late 2565, as well as the war in the Gaza Strip following the Hamas attacks in October 2566.

However, military and intelligence cooperation between the two countries has increased significantly after Iran retaliated against US and Israeli attacks in late February by firing thousands of drones and missiles at the UAE and other Arab countries.
