Thaksin Shinawatra was released from prison after being granted parole and embraced his family. Paetongtarn posted, "Welcome back daddy."

On May 11, 2026, at 8:52 AM. Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, former Prime Minister He posted a picture on Instagram of himself with former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra after he was granted parole and released from Prem Tinsulanonda's prison, along with the caption: "Welcome back daddy"

This morning, Thaksin Shinawatra was released from Klong Prem Central Prison on parole, dressed in a white polo shirt, jeans, sneakers, and with a short haircut. He was greeted by his family and Red Shirt supporters. Thaksin embraced Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Pintongta Shinawatra Kunakornwong, and Panthongtae Shinawatra.

At 7:55 AM, Mr. Thaksin, along with Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, got into a Mercedes-Maybach and departed the area.
