The screening committee has approved the "Thai Helps Thai Plus" project, with the first phase utilizing funds from the 400 billion baht loan decree. It's divided into two sub-projects: assistance for welfare card holders and a 60:40 government subsidy. The project is expected to be submitted to the Cabinet on May 19, 2026.

14 May 2569 Mr. Lawan Saengsanit, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance It has been revealed that today, the committee reviewing projects utilizing funds under the 400,000 billion baht loan decree (Meeting No. 2/2569) approved the "Thai Helps Thai Plus" project, the first project to be funded under the said loan decree. This will now be submitted to the Cabinet for consideration.

"Today, the screening committee approved the project and will submit it for consideration by the Cabinet. Whether it will be considered next week depends on whether it is included on the agenda."

The Thai Help Thai Plus project is a collaborative effort of agencies under the Ministry of Finance. The operation is divided into two main parts:

  1. The welfare card program is under the responsibility of the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance.
  2. The portion of spending under the 60:40 co-payment scheme is the responsibility of the Fiscal Policy Office (FPO).

However, the specific details of the budget allocation and conditions still need to be considered by the Cabinet, as the Cabinet has the authority to adjust or approve as deemed appropriate.
