It was revealed that today, the Cabinet approved the proposal from the Ministry of Labour regarding the setting of wage rates based on skill standards in 4 sectors, in addition to the 141 sectors previously defined by the Ministry of Labour. The details are in accordance with the Wage Committee's announcement (No. 15) dated January 29, 2569. This aims to ensure skilled workers receive appropriate and fair wages, incentivize skill development to gain recognition, increase income security, and enhance the country's competitiveness.
It was agreed to set wage rates based on skill standards in 4 fields for employees who have passed the National Skill Standard Test in each occupation and each level, as follows:
1. Flux-cored welding technician branch.
- Standard wage rate for skill level 1: 550 baht/day.
- Standard wage rate for skill level 2: 650 baht/day.
2. MIG Welding Technician Branch
- Standard wage rate for skill level 1: 550 baht/day.
- Standard wage rate for skill level 2: 650 baht/day.
3. Branch of expertise: Installer of off-grid solar power systems.
- Standard wage rate for skill level 1: 560 baht/day.
4. Industrial Robot Maintenance Technician
- Standard wage rate for skill level 1: 630 baht/day.
This shall come into effect 90 days from the date of its publication in the Royal Gazette.
