The Prime Minister held discussions with a delegation of 16 French companies, building on the success of their visit to Paris. The private sector expressed interest in increasing investment in Thailand, particularly in industries such as aviation, clean energy, digital technology, AI, and quantum computing.

On June 4, 2569 at 16.39:XNUMX p.m. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister discussed with Mr. François Corbin, Vice President of the French Employers' Federation Abroad (MEDEF International: MEDEFi) and President of the Franco-Thai Business Council. along withHis Excellency Mr. Jean-Claude Poimboeuf, Ambassador of the Republic of France to Thailand, and the MEDEFi business delegation. Sixteen companies across five key sectors—aviation, aerospace and defense; engineering and consulting; construction and transportation; digital and technology; and energy production and management—are involved, building upon the success of the Prime Minister and his delegation's visit to Paris last week.

This discussion has an important objective. To attract new investment to Thailand, especially in future industries such as aerospace, clean energy, digital technology, artificial intelligence, and quantum technology, which will help create quality jobs, increase income, upgrade the skills of Thai workers, and drive more concrete investment and cooperation in Thailand.

The Prime Minister stated that Thailand is moving forward with restructuring its economy towards an innovation-driven, technology-driven, and high-value industrial economy. This aligns with the expertise of the French business sector, presenting a significant opportunity to attract investment, technology, and new knowledge to Thailand.

French businesses have expressed confidence in Thailand's potential and are interested in further investment in several key projects, including aircraft maintenance centers, sustainable aviation fuel production, clean energy systems, and modern digital technologies. They are not only investing but also ready to transfer technology and develop Thai personnel simultaneously.

In this discussion Several leading French companies have clearly expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Thailand. Airbus, in particular, sees Thailand's potential to become a regional aviation hub and is interested in jointly developing an aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) center, as well as the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). This would create highly skilled jobs, increase opportunities for Thai businesses, and elevate the country's aviation industry.

EDF, a leading French energy company, sees an opportunity to collaborate on the development of clean energy, energy storage systems, and modern power grids to support industrial growth and future energy needs. This will enhance energy security and support Thailand's transition to a green economy.

Meanwhile, Dassault Systèmes offered collaboration on Digital Twin technology, which can be applied to urban planning, infrastructure management, disaster forecasting and response, and workforce skills development, enabling both the public and private sectors to plan and manage resources more efficiently.

Pasqal, a leading French quantum technology company, sees potential in Thailand to become a quantum technology hub in Southeast Asia and is ready to cooperate in developing a quantum computing ecosystem. This will help create highly skilled personnel to support future technology industries and enhance the country's long-term competitiveness.

In addition to investment, the French business sector emphasized its readiness to transfer technology, develop workforce skills, and collaborate with Thai universities and educational institutions to create a new generation of personnel who meet the needs of future industries. This will directly benefit Thais in terms of education, employment, and income.

At the end of the discussions, the Prime Minister reaffirmed the government's commitment to creating a favorable investment environment and to pushing forward the Thailand-European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and OECD membership in order to elevate the standards of the Thai economy, open up new trade opportunities, and build confidence among global investors.

The Prime Minister also announced good news regarding the stock market, which surpassed 1,600 points during the day for the first time in three years and two months, reflecting investor confidence. He added that today's discussions in Bangkok demonstrated that the cooperation initiated in Paris is being developed into concrete ideas, opportunities, and partnerships, and that Thailand is ready to work closely with the French private sector to translate these interests into tangible results in the long term.
