5 Jun 2569 Mr. Somsak Anantawat, Advisor on Tax Collection Strategy (Energy Business Group), Acting Director-General of the Revenue Department. It has been revealed that, as announced by the Revenue Department, the accelerated collection of taxes from Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra is in accordance with the Supreme Court's judgment No. 6890/2568, which was read on November 17, 2568. The judgment ruled that the assessment by the officials was lawful, thus concluding the case and making the tax debt final.

Since the assessment of taxes against Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra, even while appealing to the Appeals Committee and undergoing court proceedings, the Revenue Department has consistently pursued and expedited the collection of outstanding taxes from Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra within the legal framework. This has included issuing notices for tax payment, investigating all types of assets for seizure and freezing to settle tax debts. Currently, the Revenue Department is tracking Mr. Thaksin's assets both domestically and internationally, coordinating with various agencies to find ways to enforce tax debt collection.

However, even after the tax collection process has been expedited to its conclusion, if the Revenue Department does not receive full payment of the assessed taxes, it will consider proceeding with a bankruptcy lawsuit against Mr. Thaksin Shinawatra. This action has been taken within the timeframe and statute of limitations as prescribed by law to prevent damage to the government.
