The Association of State Financial Institutions has approved the establishment of a subcommittee on fraud, with the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) as chair, to accelerate the prevention of financial fraud and utilize AI to improve personnel efficiency.

June 10, 2569 News report from Association of State Financial Institutions It has been revealed that the Association of State Financial Institutions held its 2nd/2026 committee meeting. Mr. Chatchai Sirilai, Manager of the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) and Chairman of the Association of State Financial Institutions, chaired the meeting on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. The Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand (SME Bank) hosted the meeting.

The meeting considered key issues, including the approval of the work plan, projects, and budget of the newly established Subcommittee on Fraud, chaired by the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC), in order to enhance the effectiveness of risk prevention and address financial fraud among member institutions of the Association of State Financial Institutions.

This includes providing feedback on collaborative approaches (synergy) and data integration among specialized financial institutions, sharing resources such as training courses, and exchanging key knowledge for knowledge sharing and transfer among member financial institutions, thereby enhancing the capabilities of personnel to have the necessary knowledge and understanding.

In particular, AI is being used as a tool to improve operational efficiency, a significant shift the world is currently facing due to advances in digital technology.

In addition, the association's committee meeting also acknowledged the report on the meeting, discussions, and exchange of views between the Senate's Economic, Financial, and Fiscal Affairs Committee and the committee of the Association of State Financial Institutions on May 11, 2569, at the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) headquarters.

Additionally, the performance results of all seven subcommittees for the first quarter of 2026 were reviewed, and feedback and suggestions were received from the association's committee.

The event was attended by Mr. Songpol Cheevapanyaroj, Director of the Government Savings Bank; Dr. Mahatthana Ampornphisit, Managing Director of the Government Housing Bank (GHB); Mr. Chalach Rattanaboonnitthi, Managing Director of the Export-Import Bank of Thailand (EXIM Bank); Mr. Pichit Mitrawong, Managing Director of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand (SME Bank); and Mr. Thavilap Rittaphirom, Director and Manager of the Islamic Bank of Thailand (IBT).

Ms. Saranya Vejakul, Chief Financial Officer, Strategy & Resources Management and Acting Head of Financial Management Division, Krung Thai Bank Public Company Limited; Mr. Sit Wongsariya, Deputy General Manager, Risk Management and Supervision Division, Small and Medium Enterprise Credit Guarantee Corporation (SMEG); and Mr. Woranat Sukhosamit, Secretary-General of the Association of State Financial Institutions, attended the meeting at the Kaew Wichian Meeting Room, 11th Floor, SME Bank Tower, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand, Bangkok.
