DEPA is moving forward with a major strategy to upgrade Thailand's digital content industry, launching a registration system for entrepreneurs. The aim is to create a central database of Thai digital content, paving the way for its entry onto the global stage.

June 14, 2569 – The Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) announced a major strategy to upgrade Thailand's digital content industry at the ECOSYSTEM MOMENTUM FOR DIGITAL CONTENT THAILAND event. The initiative involves launching a comprehensive registration system for digital content businesses to create a systematic central database, and invites producers, developers, and service providers to register.

The Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) organized the ECOSYSTEM MOMENTUM FOR DIGITAL CONTENT THAILAND event, a platform to drive the Thai digital content industry towards international growth through networking and connecting all sectors of the ecosystem. The event also provided a space for entrepreneurs to showcase their potential and connect with business opportunities under the theme 'From Local Talent to Global Content'.

Dr. Supakorn Sittichai, Acting Director-General of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA), stated that the Thai digital content industry is a key mechanism for driving the country's digital economy. Currently, the industry has a total value of over 50,609 million baht, and is projected to grow by 14% in 2567 (based on the 2567 Digital Content Industry Survey). This reflects the outstanding potential and creativity of Thai people.

However, in the past, information on entrepreneurs in the Thai digital content industry has remained scattered and lacked a systematic central database. Therefore, the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) has developed a comprehensive registration system for digital content entrepreneurs to collect, categorize, and create an overview of the entire digital content industry value chain, from upstream to downstream. This system also aims to align with international contexts. DEPA invites entrepreneurs, freelancers, and content creators in the industry to register through the system to create a central database, showcase their potential through their portfolios, and connect with domestic and international investors.

Having a central database and a standardized registration system will be a crucial mechanism to strengthen the ecosystem of Thailand's digital content industry. At the same time, it will open up opportunities for entrepreneurs and individuals in the industry to showcase their potential to domestic and international investors, paving the way for growth from local talent to global content and propelling Thailand towards becoming one of the digital content industry hubs in Southeast Asia.

Furthermore, the government can accurately set policy directions to promote the industry. Therefore, the ECOSYSTEM MOMENTUM FOR DIGITAL CONTENT THAILAND event held today will be an important starting point for showcasing the potential of the Thai digital content industry. DEPA aims to act as a bridge connecting the entire industry system, and to help drive a strong industrial ecosystem, ready to sustainably enter the global market.

“DEPA is committed to creating an ecosystem that concretely supports the growth of Thailand's digital content industry. Therefore, this registration of digital content entrepreneurs is not just about data collection, but also lays a strategic foundation to connect the potential of Thai people with global business opportunities and enhance the country's competitiveness.”

The system, developed by DEPA, categorizes the digital content industry into six high-potential sectors that are crucial in creating economic value for Thailand. These include games, animation, character design, e-sports, content creators, and e-books. Entrepreneurs, freelancers, and emerging content creators who register on the system can create a portfolio to showcase their work. This feature acts as a standardized online storefront, allowing investors to find their work, thereby removing trade barriers and opening doors to new business opportunities.

Entrepreneurs, freelancers, and content creators in the digital content industry can now register to become members of the Thai Digital Content Entrepreneur Registration system and create portfolios to showcase their work.
