The Prime Minister has signed an order appointing a new Joint Public-Private Sector Committee to address economic problems (JPC), bringing together the government and private sector to solve economic issues. The first meeting is scheduled for June 22nd.

According to a report from Government House, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister The Prime Minister's Office issued Order No. 227/2569 on June 11th, appointing the Joint Public-Private Sector Committee to address economic problems (JPC), in order to ensure continuous economic development and progress.

This aligns with the country's economic situation and government policies, as well as supporting and promoting the role of the private sector, both at the central and regional levels, to participate more effectively with the government in national development.

By the Board of Directors of the Economic and Social Development Council. The Prime Minister chairs the committee, with Deputy Prime Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas as vice-chairman. The committee members include Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn Nilapraphan, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office Paradorn Prisnanantakul, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Minister of Transport, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, Minister of Energy, Minister of Commerce, Minister of Industry, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior.

The Secretary-General of the Council of State, the Secretary-General of the Public Sector Development Commission, the Secretary-General of the Board of Investment, the Director of the Budget Bureau, the Governor of the Bank of Thailand, the Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries, the Chairman of the Thai Bankers' Association, the Chairman of the Thai SME Federation, and the Secretary-General of the National Economic and Social Development Council serve as members and secretaries. The Director of the Fiscal Policy Office serves as a member and assistant secretary, and a Deputy Secretary-General of the National Economic and Social Development Council, as assigned, also serves as a member and assistant secretary.

It has the duty and authority to consider and recommend guidelines and measures to the Cabinet for resolving economic, trade, and investment problems and obstacles faced by the private sector, both at the central and regional levels. This also includes encouraging the private sector to cooperate with the government in driving economic growth and ensuring efficient and sustainable competitiveness.

The first meeting of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC) will be held on June 22nd at 9:30 AM at the Phakdi Bodin Building, Government House.
