The Governor of the Bank of Thailand stated that S&P's affirmation of Thailand's rating reflects a strong monetary policy and robust foreign exchange reserves.

The Governor of the Bank of Thailand revealed that S&P has affirmed Thailand's credit rating at BBB+ (Stable), praising the highest score in monetary policy stability and international reserves. He also noted that economic risks in 69 still need to be monitored.
June 21, 2569 – Mr. Vitai Ratanakorn, Governor of the Bank of Thailand (BOT) The post, made via Facebook, stated that: S&P's credit rating assessment last week came out with BBB+ with STABLE Outlook (unchanged).
"Thailand received the highest rating (scores 1-2) in two out of six areas: its international financial position and its monetary policy. This is a direct translation from the report."
1.) “Thailand’s strong external balance sheet and international liquidity will continue to be a supporting factor for the country’s credit rating.”
"This is mainly due to high levels of international reserves compared to low levels of foreign debt, a positive net foreign asset balance, and a current account surplus, albeit a slight decrease."
2.) The credibility of the Bank of Thailand's monetary policy and its performance in maintaining price stability are key factors supporting Thailand's credit rating.
"Credit for this must go to the previous governors and teams at the Bank of Thailand, which have ensured the continued strength of monetary policy to this day."
However, S&P still estimates that in 2569, Thailand's GDP will grow by 2.0%, the current account balance will increase by 2% of GDP, and the government will have a budget deficit of 3.5% of GDP in order to support the economy.
"However, the Thai economy in the coming period faces both downside and upside risks. Updated figures from the Bank of Thailand will be released this week after the Monetary Policy Committee meeting, and they are consistent with that."
