The Ministry of Transport is supporting airlines by extending the 30% reduction in air navigation fees until August, in response to rising fuel costs.

The Ministry of Transport is extending measures to mitigate the impact of the Middle East crisis, reducing air navigation fees for domestic flights by 30% for another two months, until August 2026, and extending the payment deadline by 30 days.
On June 28, 2569, Mr. Patarapong Pataraprasit, Deputy Minister of Transport, revealed that he had instructed the Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Co., Ltd. (AeroThai) to continue implementing measures to assist airline operators, as the unrest in the Middle East continues to affect the operating costs of the air transport sector.
Consideration should be given to extending the duration of the air navigation fee reduction measures to alleviate cost burdens, enhance liquidity for airlines affected by volatile energy prices, and maintain the continuity of services and Thailand's competitiveness.
The Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) has also been tasked with closely monitoring domestic and international aviation situations, coordinating with all relevant agencies, and preparing personnel, equipment, and contingency plans in case of emergencies. The ultimate goal is to benefit the country and ensure the safety of its citizens, thereby driving Thailand towards becoming a world-class aviation hub.
Mr. Surachai Nuphrom, Deputy Managing Director and Acting Managing Director of Aeronautical Information Service (AIS), stated that at the AIS Board meeting on June 24, 2026, a resolution was passed to extend the government's policy to mitigate the impact of the Middle East situation for another two months, from July to August 2026. This applies to domestic flights at a 30% rate, along with an extension of the credit term, allowing airlines to pay 50% of their service fees as scheduled, with the remaining balance due by 30 days. This aims to reduce the operating costs for airlines, particularly fuel costs.
This will be done in conjunction with improving air traffic management efficiency, ensuring flights use time and fuel efficiently, reducing delays, and maintaining safety standards on all flights, so that the country's air transportation system can continue to operate effectively.
