Toyota faced a fourth consecutive month of declining global sales, with May sees a 7.2% drop compared to the previous year, while sales in China and the Middle East contracted sharply.

On June 29, 2569, at 11.38:2569 AM, Reuters reported that Toyota Motor revealed that global vehicle sales in May 4 declined for the fourth consecutive month, pressured by sharply declining sales in China and the Middle East.

Toyota stated in a press release that global vehicle sales fell 7.2% year-on-year to 834,279 units. Overseas sales declined 9.6%, but sales in Japan increased 11.1% due to strong demand for popular models such as the RAV4 and bZ4X.

When broken down by region, sales in China plummeted by 31.7% amid a weak market, partly impacted by rising fuel prices. Sales in the Middle East fell by 38.6%, while in the United States, Toyota's largest market, sales decreased by only 0.6% year-on-year.

Global automobile production in May fell 5.5% year-on-year, with production in the United States declining 3.8% and in Asia decreasing 13.3%, despite an increase in production in Japan.
