The Ministry of Finance signs an agreement with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to receive a $2 million grant for flood recovery in Songkhla in 68.
The Ministry of Finance has signed an agreement to receive a US$2 million grant from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to mitigate the impact of the flooding in Songkhla province.

Revealed on June 26, 2569 The Minister of Finance has signed a grant agreement for US$2 million with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to mitigate the impact and restore damage from the devastating floods in Songkhla province in 2568. Following the Cabinet meeting on June 23, 2569, which approved the Ministry of Finance to receive the assistance on behalf of the Thai government and agreed on the guidelines for allocating grants for the rehabilitation of Songkhla province, the following measures were approved:
- The procurement of replacement medical equipment for Hat Yai Hospital, damaged by the floods, is being conducted through the Public Health Administration Division, Ministry of Public Health, to enable Hat Yai Hospital to resume providing efficient services to the public.
- The procurement of replacement medical equipment for the Songkhla Provincial Public Health Office is aimed at enhancing preparedness for providing comprehensive healthcare to the public.
- Repairing shelter buildings damaged by the flooding and purchasing medical equipment in the Koh Hong municipal area, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province.
- Financial assistance for vulnerable households affected by the floods will be jointly distributed by the Governor of Songkhla Province, the Songkhla Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, and the Songkhla Provincial Social Development and Human Security Office to eligible recipients according to established criteria.
Ms. Jindarat revealed that the massive floods in Songkhla province in 2568 severely impacted the lives of the people, communities, the public health service system, and vital infrastructure, especially in Hat Yai district and surrounding areas, which are important economic hubs and public health service centers in the South. Therefore, receiving this grant from the ADB is crucial for supporting the restoration of basic services and alleviating the burden on affected people.
Furthermore, this grant assistance reflects the close cooperation between the Thai government and the ADB in supporting disaster management, relief efforts, and comprehensive recovery in affected areas. The Ministry of Finance, through the Public Debt Management Office, will coordinate with relevant agencies to ensure that the implementation of these measures is transparent, efficient, and consistent with the objectives of the APDRF fund, as well as Thai laws, regulations, and guidelines.
