On July 2, 2569 at 10.20:XNUMX a.m. Mr. Chatchai Bangchawad, Secretary-General of the National Security Council (NSC). It has been revealed that the Emergency Situation Management Committee (ESMC) meeting No. 3/2026 resolved to extend the enforcement period of the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in Emergency Situations B.E. 2548 (2005), the 85th extension, for another three months, from July 20, 2026, to October 19, 2026. This will be effective in 18 districts in the three southern border provinces.

It comprises the districts of Mueang Pattani, Nong Chik, Khok Pho, Yarang, and Sai Buri in Pattani Province; the districts of Mueang Narathiwat, Bacho, Rueso, Ra-ngae, Si Sakhon, Chanae, Cho Airong, Sungai Padi, Tak Bai, and Sungai Kolok in Narathiwat Province; and the districts of Mueang Yala, Bannang Sata, and Thanto in Yala Province. The National Security Council will propose this to the Cabinet meeting for consideration on Tuesday, July 7th.

Mr. Chatchai stated that the Prime Minister's official visit to Malaysia on July 9-10, which will include Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew, will be a key topic of discussion at the high level, particularly regarding the resolution of problems in the three southern border provinces.
