High-ranking representatives from Malaysia and a delegation from the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur were present to welcome them.
On this occasion, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim personally welcomed the Thai Prime Minister before escorting him to the official welcoming ceremony at the VIP lounge of Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The two leaders then inspected the Guard of Honour, and the Malaysian Prime Minister invited the Thai Prime Minister to travel in the same vehicle to the Prime Minister's Office (Perdana Putra Complex) in Putrajaya for the official welcoming ceremony and discussions.
Ms. Rachada stated that this warm welcome reflects the close relationship and trust between the leaders of both countries, which is a crucial foundation for promoting cooperation to achieve more tangible results and benefit the people.
The government prioritizes leveraging good relations with neighboring countries to create economic opportunities and improve the quality of life for their citizens. This discussion will focus on expanding trade and investment, connecting logistics and transportation systems, enhancing cooperation in agriculture and tourism, and developing border areas. The goal is to increase opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs, farmers, exporters, and workers to access Malaysian and regional markets, generate income and employment, and enhance the country's competitiveness.
In addition, both sides will discuss cooperation on security, combating transnational crime, human trafficking, online fraud, and coordination within the ASEAN framework to enhance the safety, trust, and stability of the region, which are crucial factors for trade, investment, and tourism.
This afternoon, the Prime Minister is scheduled to hold a four-eye meeting with the Prime Minister of Malaysia before participating in a full bilateral meeting. Both sides will exchange views on promoting cooperation in promising areas, witness the exchange of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) on agriculture, and hold a joint press conference.
Following this, the Malaysian Prime Minister will host a luncheon in honor of the Thai Prime Minister and his delegation. In the evening, the Prime Minister will meet with representatives of the Thai private sector in Malaysia to receive feedback and promote cooperation in trade, investment, and the expansion of Thai businesses in Malaysia.
