The Ministry of Finance will propose to the Cabinet on July 14th that the "State Welfare Card" deduction criteria be removed, applying only to "parents," while "children and spouses" will remain unchanged.

The Ministry of Finance is preparing to propose new criteria for the "State Welfare Card" to the Cabinet on July 14, 2569. These criteria will not include agricultural debt and will remove the option for children to use their parents' names for tax deductions. However, children and spouses who previously used tax deductions will still be disqualified. The results will be announced on July 17, along with an explanation of the reasons for the disqualification.

9 July 2569 – Dr. Vinit Visetsuwannapoom, Director of the Fiscal Policy Office (FPO), in his capacity as spokesperson for the Ministry of Finance. It has been revealed that the Ministry of Finance is preparing to present revised criteria for screening low-income individuals for the state welfare card system to the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, July 14, 2569. The details to be presented to the Cabinet meeting are as follows:

1. Except for the application of the parent deduction criteria.

2. Farmers' debt will not be used as a criterion for judgment, as proposed by the Bank of Thailand (BOT).

"Regarding the deduction criteria that are not being used, this applies only to the deductions for parents. The criteria for deductions for children and spouses remain unchanged."

3. Bring an additional 5.4 million vulnerable individuals into the benefits program. With the cooperation of the Ministry of Interior, local administration, village headmen, and community leaders, a team was able to identify those genuinely in need but who lacked access to the system. This resulted in the identification of an additional 5.4 million individuals who had been overlooked. This group will then undergo a screening process to receive assistance.

After the screening process is complete, the results of those who are eligible for state welfare benefits will be announced on July 17, 2569. For those who do not meet the criteria, the government will provide an opportunity to appeal and review their eligibility. Clear details regarding which criteria they were disqualified will be provided.

"However, registration periods have revealed that some previously eligible individuals have relinquished their rights, such as those who are directors in companies."

Dr. Vinit Revealed further that For those whose welfare benefits have been revoked, they can participate in the Thai Help Thai Plus 60/40 project. This group does not need to re-register; they only need to verify their identity to receive benefits through the Paotang application.
